It’s that time again folks! Ballentine Ford is hosting its annual charity days sale where $200 will be donated to a charity of your choice with every vehicle purchased. If you are in the market for a new car or truck, stop by Ballentine Ford. You will drive away knowing you have also helped a local non profit. Of course, we would love for you to select BEYOND ABUSE as your charity!!!!! A big thank you to our friends at Ballentine Ford for this wonderful event!!
The quarterly staff meeting was held offsite at The Humane Society. Quarterly staff meetings include “Self Care” activities as a way for employees to decrease stress, increase relaxation and deal with challenging emotional situations that they face in the work environment. The meetings also include team building exercises. A big THANK YOU to Karen and Michael for such a fun activity.
Beyond Abuse was recently awarded a $7,500 grant from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office. The funds were made available by the Victims Fines, Fees, and Assessments fund which is managed by the State office of Victims Assistance (SOVA). These funds can only be used for Direct Victim Services. These funds will allow the agency to continue to offer timely services such as forensic interviews, advocacy, counseling, and crisis response to victims of child abuse and sexual assault in Greenwood County. “This is a testament to the strong and supportive working relationship that exists between the agency and law enforcement” stated Cathy Miller, Executive Director of Beyond Abuse.

Members of 1st Baptist Church spent several hours on Saturday moving file cabinets and painting to convert a storage room into a future therapy office. What a difference! Thanks to Nan and the crew!!!
Victim Services manager, Elizabeth Wise hosted a volunteer appreciation luncheon on April 29, 2017 where she recognized volunteers for their service to the agency. A big thank you to each one!!
Child Therapist, Samantha Black, and Therapy dog Brook, take a few minutes to reconnect after a session.
What a great way to start the day! Ten wonderful volunteers from NewSpring Church arrived bright and early and began painting our modular building that houses our support staff. The building was in much need of a facelift and the fresh coat of paint was part of the campus 3 year master plan. When completed, it will blend perfectly in with the other buildings at the Greenwood campus.
THANKS to these wonderful folks who took time from this Beautiful Saturday morning to make this happen and to Brandon Holder for coordinating the project!!
