Tranquil United Methodist Women make donation

Cathy Miller, Beyond Abuse’s Executive Director, was honored to be the guest speaker at Tranquil United Methodist Women’s annual joint meeting on Sunday Oct 15th, 2017.  After the presentation, the group make  a generous donation to the agency.  A heartfelt thank you to the group for their support and prayers.

Greenwood County Family & Community Leaders makes donation to agency

Agency grant awards announced at Attorney General Press Conference

It is a  “great day in South Carolina” when Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the 2017/2018 grant awards at a press conference held today Oct 10th, 2017 at 11 am in Greenville, SC.  Beyond Abuse was on hand for the announcement along with other grant awardees from the upstate.  Pictured below are 8th Circuit Solicitor David Stumbo, agency staff Alison Romagnoli, Jessica Bell, Cathy Miller and Attorney General Alan Wilson.

 

25th Anniversary Celebration and Open House scheduled for Nov. 14th, 2:30


Please join us as we celebrate our 25th anniversary with the unveiling of our expanded and renovated offices on Tuesday Nov. 14th, 2017 at 2:30.  We will be recognizing current and former Board members who will assist with the official “mortgage burning” ceremony.

 

Abbeville County Sheriff’s Community Outreach Event held Oct 2nd

Beyond Abuse’s Education team members Alan Cauley and Becca Bell participated in the Abbeville County Sheriff’s Community Outreach Event that was held Oct 2nd.  Alan and Becca gave out agency materials on services and support offered by the agency.  The event was a kickoff for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

 

New privacy/security fence installed

Thanks again to our FRIENDS at Eaton for making our dream come true!  We now have privacy/security fencing along the back of the campus!  We are one step closer in our master plan which is to control access to our campus and provide a safer environment for clients and staff.  Take a look at our before and after pictures!  A shout out to the Lowes install team!  Anyone interested in assisting with additional fencing needs or landscaping, please call the agency at  227-1623.

Family Advocates attend training

Family Advocates, Maria Roman and Deanna Kelly attended the 2017 Victim and Family Advocate Training in Columbia on Friday, September 22, 2017.  The training was hosted by the South Carolina Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers.  Topics included CAC/MDT history, NCA standards for accreditation, and understanding crisis, trauma and grief.    For information about the services offered by Beyond Abuse, please call 864 227 1623.

 

Lander Student volunteers Sept. 24, 2017

Service minded Lander students from Gama Phi Beta, Phi Mu, and Delta Sigma Phi spent several hours at agency on various projects including consolidation and organization of all of the agency’s material and cleaning windows!  A big shout out to everyone who gave up their Sunday afternoon to help!  Anyone wishing to volunteer should contact agency at 227 1623 as we always have a list of Repair and Mnt items that need attention!

United Way Day of Action – Eaton Team delivers!!

Many many thanks to the Eaton team who worked on two projects for us here at Beyond Abuse last Friday during United Ways Day of Action.  The first project was to remove an old lattice fence in preparation for the installation of a new perimeter privacy fence that is being funded by Eaton.  The 2nd project was to replace broken and stained ceiling tiles in the Client Services Center.   Thanks guys!!  Any one interested in volunteer opportunities can call the office at 227 1623 as we always have R&M projects on our list!!!

Ballentine Ford does it again!!! Sept. 18, 2017

Beyond Abuse was one of many local non profits to receive a very generous donation from Ballentine Ford on Monday!  We are very fortunate to have their support.
