Agency hosts joint training with Law Enforcement

Beyond Abuse hosted a joint training with local law enforcement on April 7th on the campus of Lander University. Officers from the four county area attended. Trainer Devon Hughes,with the SC Criminal Justice Academy, and Katie Reed, with SCCADVASA, presented on Sexual Assault Protocol from the perspective of Law Enforcement as well as the responding community advocate to 35 attendees. Thanks to Jessica Bell, Sexual Assault Program Director, for coordinating the training.

Forensic Interview gets much needed makeover

Wow! Check out our recently renovated Forensic Interview Room! Thanks to a local donor we were able to purchase new chairs, rug, and sound proof panels. A Volunteer painted the room with a fresh coat of paint. Our talented staff members, Samantha Black and Katie Strickland, painted the sound proof panels to give the room a great new updated look.

Lander ROTC Havoc Run to benefit agency

The second annual Havoc Run was held Saturday April 2 on the campus of Lander University. Students from Lander, Presbyterian College, and Newberry College participates in the challenging course. Brandon Platt manned an awareness table and gave out information about the agency’s services. Proceeds from the event were donated to Beyond Abuse.

Agency “Plants” pinwheels in Support of Child Abuse Prevention April 2016

Beyond Abuse’s Outreach staff “planted” these beautiful pinwheels as part of Child Abuse Prevention Month activities in the month of April. Keep an eye out for more pots and pinwheels that are sure to pop up across the city in the next few days. A special thanks to Jennifer Azzarano, a member of our outreach staff, for leading this effort.
