Crossfit of Greenwood hosted a Burpees for Babies Challenge to members and the community to raise awareness of Child Abuse. The benefit, held on Saturday May 2, 2015 raised $850 which was donated to Beyond Abuse. Beyond Abuse provides support services to victims of child abuse and sexual assault as well as offers education and awareness programs in the community. John Gary made a additional gift challenge during the event which was accepted and met by the participants. Many thanks to Justin Smith, Crossfit owner.

Volunteers from The First Baptist Church in Greenwood, SC spent their Saturday morning painting restrooms and giving a much needed facelift at Beyond Abuse. Volunteers included John Nave, Mary Lynne Westbrook, Andy Westbrook, Kent Atkins, and Richy Williams. Each year the church offers a day of caring to local nonprofits. Church members spent 16 man hours and provided paint and materials for the project. The staff was amazed at the difference it made to provide a more pleasant environment for clients. This is part of an ongoing initiative by the agency to refurbish the facility.

Thanks to our wonderful volunteers for all of the hard work to support our agency and most importantly our victims. Volunteers enjoyed catered lunch and drew for door prizes. A special thanks to our own Elizabeth Wise, Victim Services Manager for coordinating the event.
